Art Basel Paris 2026 to Showcase 211 Exhibitors Under New Direction at Grand Palais

Art Basel Paris returns to the Grand Palais from October 23 to 25, 2026, presenting its fifth edition with 211 exhibitors from 41 countries, marking the first year under director Karim Crippa.

Art Basel Paris will be held at the Grand Palais from October 23 to 25, 2026, with Preview Days on October 21 and 22 and a public Vernissage on October 22. This fifth edition of the fair is the first under the direction of Karim Crippa. Crippa has stated that his focus is on strengthening a platform shaped by the city of Paris, for the city, and in dialogue with the international art and cultural community. The fair brings together 211 exhibitors from 41 countries and territories, organized across three sectors: Galeries, Emergence, and Premise.

Nearly 30 galleries are joining Art Basel Paris for the first time in 2026, reflecting ongoing diversification among participants. The fair’s exhibitor list includes more than 60 galleries that operate spaces in France, which underscores the depth and continuity of the French gallery ecosystem and its central role in shaping the identity of the fair. The strong presence of French galleries highlights the sustained local participation and the importance of the national art scene within the broader context of the event.

A notable feature of the 2026 edition is the record 12 joint booth presentations. These collaborative booths highlight a growing culture of experimentation and cross-gallery collaboration, as exhibitors develop new formats for presentation within the fair’s main sector. This approach demonstrates the willingness of galleries to innovate and work together, contributing to the dynamic environment of the fair.

The fair’s acclaimed Public Program returns for its fifth edition, developed in partnership with leading Parisian institutions. Miu Miu serves as the Public Program Official Partner. This program is designed to engage the public and foster connections between the fair and the broader cultural landscape of Paris. The Public Program is a recurring element of Art Basel Paris and is considered an important aspect of the event’s engagement with the city.

The signature rehang initiative, Oh La La!, will take place on October 23 and 24. This initiative is led by a guest collaborator from outside the art world, bringing a fresh perspective to the presentation of artworks. Oh La La! is a distinctive feature of Art Basel Paris, offering a unique approach to curating and displaying art during the fair.

Avant-Première, the invitation-only preview for galleries and their principal clients, returns for its second edition on October 20. This exclusive event provides an early opportunity for select guests to experience the fair before it opens to the wider public. Avant-Première is positioned as a key moment in the fair’s calendar, setting the stage for the main event.

According to the Art Basel & UBS Global Art Market Report 2026, sales in France reached USD 4.5 billion in 2025, representing a 9% year-on-year increase following two years of contraction and a return above 2019 levels. France accounts for 8% of the global art market, ranking as the fourth-largest market worldwide and the largest in the European Union, representing more than half of the EU art market by value. These figures highlight the significance of the French art market in the global context.

Art Basel Paris is described as reflecting a city defined by contrast and exchange, from historic palaces and cafés to the youth, diversity, and underground cultures shaping Paris today. Under the glass dome of the Grand Palais, these histories, cultures, and ideas come together in conversation. The fair is characterized as unmistakably Parisian in character, yet international in outlook, bringing together different worlds and offering visitors personal moments of discovery and connection with art.
